GADGETS

Style · 5 min read · Updated

Gadgets are how you make your dragon yours. A shimmering trail, your name on a gold chain, a pair of shades, a hat, a celebration when you win a fight – more than fifty of them, in five slots. Every one is purely visual: no gadget changes a hitbox, a speed, a number or a rule.

The five slots

Trails

Trails follow the exact path your body draws through the sky and fade out behind your tail. Calm ones like Stardust, Petal Drift or Leaf Drift; loud ones like Rainbow Wake, Neon Ribbon or Pixel Glitch; and the Flag Ribbon, which flies the flag of your choice.

Trails are designed never to look like orbs or like an Elemental Breath, so nobody chases a trail thinking it is food, or dodges one thinking it is an attack.

Neck: chains and scarves

The name chains – Silver, Gold, Iced and Neon – carry your player name on a plate that rides along your back, so everyone in the arena knows who just took the Crown. Simpler looks include the Sky Scarf, the Bandana, the Bow Tie and two collars.

Eyes: shades and visors

From classic Aviators and Round Specs to Heart Shades, Star Shades and the glowing Cyber Visor. Shades sit inside the outline of the head: the head is the headshot target, so no gadget is allowed to hide it or make it look bigger or smaller.

Head: hats

A Backwards Cap, a Pom Beanie, a Top Hat, a Stargazer Hat full of stars, a Horned Helm, a Chef's Toque, a Propeller Cap and more. Like shades, hats stay small enough to keep every head readable.

Finishers

A finisher plays when you defeat a rival: Confetti Pop, Firework Burst, Paper Rain or Last Word. They are short celebrations, purely for show.
