BEGINNER'S GUIDE

Dragons League is a free multiplayer arena game that runs in your browser. You fly a dragon through a shared sky, eat glowing orbs to grow longer, and use one charged attack – the Elemental Breath – to cut rivals down to size. This guide walks you through your first flight, step by step.

Starting a match

Open the game, type a name and press Play. There is nothing to install and no account to create: you play as a guest, and your progress is saved in your browser. Classic is the default mode – an always-open arena you can join and leave at any time.

When you spawn, your dragon is surrounded by a short spawn shield. Use those first seconds to look around: where are the big dragons, where are the dense patches of orbs, where is open sky?

Growing: Might is everything

Every dragon has one number that matters: Might. It is your size, your health and your score at the same time. You start at 100 Might, and every glowing orb you eat adds +8 Might. More Might means a longer dragon, a higher place on the leaderboard – and a bigger target on your back.

The fastest way to grow is not the scattered small orbs, it is loot. When a dragon is defeated, most of its Might (70 %) falls into the arena as orbs along its body. Being close to a fight – without being part of it – is how good players grow quickly.

Tip Bigger orbs also refill more Spirit, the energy behind your Breath. Eating loot is the best way to keep your attack ready.

What ends a run

There is exactly one way to die by accident: flying your head into another dragon's body. It does not matter how big you are – head into a body ends you. Two heads colliding is different: the dragon with more Might survives.

The other way to die is a headshot: a charged Elemental Breath that hits your head. More on that below and in the Elemental Breath guide.

Your first defeat is not the end. Once per life, a fallen player comes back with a Dragon Rebirth: half of the Might you had, and a few seconds of shield to get away. The second defeat sends you back to the menu with your score.

Your one attack

Hold the mouse button (or E) to charge your Elemental Breath, then release to fire. While you charge, everyone sees a dashed aim line in front of you – so do the others when they aim at you. A short tap is quick and cheap; a full charge reaches further and cuts deeper.

The Breath costs Spirit, the blue bar under your Might. Spirit does not refill on its own: you earn it by eating orbs.

Your first ten minutes

  1. Minutes 0–2: eat, don't fight. Stay at the edge of busy areas and collect orbs. Ignore big dragons.
  2. Minutes 2–5: learn the aim line. Whenever you see a dashed line pointing at you, turn away from it. Dodging Breaths is the most important skill in the game.
  3. Minutes 5–8: your first slices. Find a dragon about your size, charge briefly and cut its tail. Eat the orbs it drops.
  4. Minutes 8–10: try a headshot. Wait for a rival flying straight toward you, charge to at least two thirds, and aim for the head.

Five beginner mistakes

  1. Boosting all the time. Boosting burns Might fast. Save it for escapes and for finishing a chase.
  2. Crossing in front of a big dragon. A long body is a wall. Go around it, never across its path.
  3. Ignoring the aim line. If a rival is charging and the line points at you, you have about a second to move.
  4. Firing every Breath at full charge. Full charges are expensive. Quick slices keep your Spirit up.
  5. Chasing the Crown too early. The Crown makes you the target of the whole arena. Grow first.

When you are comfortable with these basics, read the guides on Might, Spirit and Ascension and on taking the Crown.
