PLAYING BROWSER GAMES ON ANY DEVICE

Short answer: yes – a modern browser on a phone, tablet, Chromebook or laptop is enough to play Dragons League and most other browser games. For the best experience, hold a phone sideways, use a mouse on a computer, keep the browser up to date and close heavy tabs. The rest of this guide explains each tip and how to fix the common problems.

Phone
- Hold it sideways. Landscape gives you a wider view of the arena and leaves room for both thumbs. The game even shows a hint if you start in portrait.
- Left thumb steers, right thumb acts. Steering uses an on-screen joystick that has its own touch, so your other thumb can hold FLY! to boost or Breath to charge, or tap the arena for a quick shot.
- Use the browser you already have. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all work. There is nothing to install.
- Mind the notch and the edges. If a button is hard to reach, rotate the phone the other way round.
Tablet
A tablet is the most comfortable touch device: the arena is bigger and your thumbs have more space. Landscape is still recommended. If you use a keyboard case, the desktop controls work as well – mouse or trackpad to steer, Space to boost, E to charge the Breath and Q to Ascend. Full list: controls.
Chromebook and laptop
- Use a mouse if you can. A trackpad works, but small precise moves are easier with a mouse, especially in close fights.
- Go full screen (F11 on most systems) for the widest view.
- Check the power mode. Many laptops slow down on battery saver. Plugging in often fixes stutter all by itself.
- Update the browser. A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari gives the best graphics and sound.
Making it run smoother
The first time you open Dragons League, your browser downloads about 4 MB of game files; afterwards it keeps most of them, so later visits start faster. To keep the game smooth:
- Close other heavy tabs, especially video and big web apps. Browsers share memory between tabs, and older phones notice.
- Use a stable connection. Wi-Fi close to the router is better than weak mobile data. The game is real-time, so a steady connection matters more than a fast one.
- Restart a tired browser. If a phone has been on for days with many tabs open, a restart of the browser (or the phone) is the quickest fix.
- Turn off battery saver while you play on phones and laptops.
- Keep the screen awake. If your phone dims the screen during a match, increase the screen timeout.
Fixing common problems
| What you see | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Dragon feels laggy or jumps | Weak connection or busy device | Move closer to the router, close other tabs, reload the page |
| Game is very small or stretched | Portrait mode or an odd zoom level | Rotate to landscape; reset browser zoom to 100 % |
| No sound | Browsers start audio only after a tap or click | Tap the sound button in the menu; check the device is not muted |
| Buttons are hard to press | Small screen or case in the way | Try the other landscape direction, or use a bigger device |
| Progress is gone | Browser data was cleared for a guest profile | Create an optional account to keep progress across devices |
School and work networks
Some schools and workplaces filter game websites. That is their rule to set, and we do not offer ways around filters. If Dragons League does not open on a managed network, play at home or on your own connection instead.
