BEST FREE MULTIPLAYER BROWSER GAMES

Short answer: the best free multiplayer browser game is the one that starts in seconds, treats every player fairly, is safe to open and is fun on your own device. Here is a checklist you can use on any game, and why we think Dragons League passes it.
1. It starts in under ten seconds
A browser game should not need a download, an installer or a long sign-up. Open the page, type a nickname, play. If you have to create an account before you see the game, close the tab: you are the product, not the player.
2. It is really free, and fair
Free should mean free. Look for what the game sells: if it sells cosmetics (looks, trails, hats) it is usually fine. If it sells power, such as bigger, faster or stronger characters, the game is pay-to-win and the best players will be the ones who spend the most. Our fair play checklist has seven questions that tell you in two minutes.
3. It has real people in it
Multiplayer is only fun if the room is alive. A good game keeps arenas populated, so you never wait in an empty lobby, and the opponents react like humans.
4. It is safe to open
- It runs on its own, clearly named site, and does not ask you to install an extension or a "launcher".
- It has a real privacy page and asks before it uses cookies.
- It never asks for your password or payment details inside the game chat.
5. It works on your device
A game for a laptop that fights your phone's touch screen is not a good game for you. Check that it supports the device you have and that it stays smooth in a normal browser window. If it lags, our guide to fixing lag in browser games usually solves it.
6. You always know why you lost
In a good game, a defeat teaches you something: you took a risk, you were out of position, you missed a shot. If you lose and cannot tell why, you will not come back.
